The marvellous beach Anse Trusalo lies at the West coast of Mahé, in the vicinity of Port Glaud and offers an unrivalled view of the offshore Island L’Islette. This remote and little-visited stretch of coast is ideal for travellers in search of peace, nature and authenticity – far away from mass tourism.

Information for visitors

Anse Trusalo is a quiet, unspoilt beach with no service facilities. There are no sanitary facilities, restaurants or shops directly on the beach. Visitors should bring sufficient Water, snacks, sun protection and bathing shoes if necessary bring along. Please don’t leave any rubbish behind and help to keep nature clean.

The nearest supply facilities are located in Port Glaud or Anse L’Islettejust a few minutes away by car.

Arrival and access

  • By car: Limited parking facilities along the coastal road near Port Glaud
  • On foot: Short access path from the roadside through natural vegetation
  • Not barrier-free: Uneven ground, rocks and natural paths

Whether for swimming, walking, taking photos or simply switching off – Anse Trusalo is one of the last remaining beaches in the world. unspoilt beaches on Mahé with an impressive natural backdrop and plenty of privacy. The view of the island of L’Islette gives the place a special, almost magical atmosphere.

Directions to Anse Trusalo on Mahé, Seychelles

Start your journey in Victoria, the capital of Mahé, and take the Bel Air Road uphill towards Sans Soucis Road. This picturesque route offers numerous highlights: Discover impressive viewpoints such as the Rochon Dam and the historical Mission Lodge. The varied trails are worthwhile for hiking enthusiasts, including Copolia, Trois Frères, Salazie, Casse-Dent, Morne Blanc and the popular Tea Tavern Trail.

Continue along the road to the west coast and you will reach the charming village of Port Glaud. Turn right here. You will find parking facilities directly after the Del Place Restaurant opposite the church.

From this point, the Anse Trusalo already visible in the distance. Continue on foot along the entire beach Anse L’Islette. You cross a small river that flows into the sea at the beach. A particularly worthwhile destination is the nearby Sauzier waterfallwhich lies a little way upstream. At the end of Anse L’Islette, the rocks lead directly into the water, where you can wade through the shallow sea at low tide to reach the idyllic Anse Trusalo. Please note: The rocky passage is only passable at low tide – so plan your outward and return journey accordingly and be careful when crossing the river.

An alternative trail leads behind the rocks, but runs across the grounds of the Ephelia Hotels and is not accessible to non-hotel guests.

journey time: The distance from Victoria to Anse Trusalo is around 17 kilometres and takes around 30 minutes by car. The walk along the beach takes around 15 minutes.

Public transport:

  • Bus route 14: From Port Launay via Sans Soucis
  • Bus route 13: From Port Launay via La Misère

The bus stop is located in the immediate vicinity of the Del Place Restaurant in Port Glaud.
