Some people think Mahé is only a place to lie on the beach. We see it differently. Mahé, the largest and most varied island of the Seychelles, is full of adventure: jungle trails, hidden bays, natural rock pools, a colourful capital and lively evenings. Whether you love nature, beaches, culture or a bit of action, adventure in the Seychelles starts right here on our island, and we would love to guide you on a day trip or a half day tour.
Adventure on Mahé: nature, culture and island life
From the moment you arrive, you see turquoise water, white sand, dramatic granite rocks and green mountain forests. But Mahé is more than a pretty picture. It is an island full of life, with markets, spice gardens, artists, museums and friendly people. With a local guide you discover the places you would not find alone, and you learn the stories behind them.
Hiking adventures in Morne Seychellois National Park and beyond
The mountains of Mahé are perfect for guided hikes. All our hikes are easy, private and suitable for children from about 5 or 6 years.
- Anse Major hike: a jungle trail through the cinnamon forest on the north west coast, with sea views and a swim in a bay you can only reach on foot.
- Copolia hike: a short, shady walk to a 180° view over Victoria and the Ste Anne Marine Park, past the rare Seychelles pitcher plant.
- Ros Lepa hike: through scented cinnamon forest in the south west to a natural granite staircase, far from the usual tourist routes.
- Rockpool hike: an easy walk in the wild south of Mahé to a natural rock pool where you can swim.
Beaches, swimming and snorkelling
On our Beach Tour you choose the beaches and how long we stay. We drive you to bays such as Anse Intendance, Anse Royale, Anse à la Mouche, Anse Soleil, Carana and Beau Vallon, with time to swim and snorkel in clear water. A Creole lunch on the beach is optional and paid on site.
The whole island in one day
The Mahé Island Tour is our classic full day adventure: the Jardin du Roi spice garden, the beaches of the south, the Takamaka Rum Distillery, a craft village, the viewpoint at Mission Lodge, Sauzier Waterfall and the west coast around Port Launay. You decide where we stop, and your guide adapts the route to your wishes.
Culture and history in Victoria
Victoria is one of the smallest capitals in the world, and it is full of discoveries. On the Victoria City Tour you visit the colourful Hindu temple, the Clock Tower, the cathedrals and the Sir Selwyn Selwyn-Clarke Market with its fish, fruit and spices. In the Botanical Garden you meet giant tortoises and the famous Coco de Mer. Victoria is also home to museums such as the Natural History Museum and the National Museum of History, a good choice on a rainy day.
Creative and special experiences
- Soul Flower Tour: print your own pareo with sunlight, flowers and leaves at the Roots Seychelles workshop, with relaxed beach time at Beau Vallon.
- Airport Tour: fresh fruit and juice in a fruit valley, as a gentle first or last day on Mahé combined with your airport transfer.
- Night Tour: cocktails, bars, clubs or casinos, with a safe ride home at the end of the evening.
