We take the protection of your data seriously and collect only what we need to carry out your tour. This policy explains what we collect on islandtourseychelles.com, why, and what rights you have.
1. Who is responsible
Island Tour Seychelles, Karl Schnürch, P.O. Box 1523, Victoria, Mahé, Seychelles. E-mail: info@islandtourseychelles.com. The tours are carried out by SeyMahe Island Services (Sheena Jean), who receives the booking details needed for your tour.
2. Data we collect for bookings
When you book a tour, we collect:
- name, e-mail address and phone number
- pick up place
- flight or ship details, if relevant
- your notes, for example wishes or questions
- date, tour, number of guests and the booking amount
If you contact us by e-mail or WhatsApp, we use your message and contact details to answer you.
3. Purpose
We use your data only to carry out your tour and to contact you about it, for example to confirm the pick up time or in case of a change of plans. We do not sell your data and do not use it for advertising.
4. Payment with Stripe
Payments are processed by Stripe. You enter your card or wallet details (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal) directly with Stripe. We do not see or store your card data. We only receive confirmation of the payment and basic details such as the amount. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the payment process.
5. E-mails
Booking confirmations and messages about your tour are sent from our own mail server. We do not use newsletter services.
6. Statistics without cookies
We use our own simple statistics to see how the website is used. They work without tracking cookies. Instead of your IP address, we store an anonymised visitor hash that changes daily, so you cannot be recognised across days. The country is determined from the IP address using the DB-IP Lite database (db-ip.com) on our own server. We do not use third party analytics services.
7. Cookies
We set a session cookie only where it is technically necessary: to protect the booking form against misuse and for the login to our admin area. These cookies are deleted when the session ends. There are no advertising or tracking cookies.
8. No advertising trackers, fonts hosted locally
This website contains no advertising trackers and no social media tracking. Fonts are hosted on our own server, so no data is sent to font providers when you visit the site.
9. Storage duration
We keep booking data for as long as required for accounting and legal record keeping. Messages that are not related to a booking are deleted when they are no longer needed.
10. Your rights
You can ask us at any time which data we hold about you, and request correction or deletion, as far as no legal obligation to keep the data applies. Just write to info@islandtourseychelles.com.
11. Legal framework
We process personal data in line with the Seychelles Data Protection Act 2023. For visitors from the European Union, we also follow the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). This policy is general information and not legal advice.
