The Seychelles are not only beaches and granite rocks. Our island is also home to painters, sculptors, glass designers and craftspeople whose work tells the story of the ocean, the forest and Creole life. On our Art and Craft Tour on Mahé we take you to the studios and galleries of the best known artists of the Seychelles. The tour is private, individual and planned with plenty of time, so you can talk to the artists, watch them work and choose a piece to take home.
Art and Craft Tour on Mahé: how it works
You decide which artists and places you would like to visit, and how many. We know where each studio is and when it is open, which is not always easy to find out as a visitor. We also know who works mostly with paint, who prefers sculpture and who is into other crafts, so we can put together a route that fits your taste exactly.
- Private tour: only you and your partner, family or group, with a local guide.
- Duration: about 5–6 hours, depending on the number of visits.
- Free pick up and drop off anywhere on Mahé.
- Guided in English or French.
- Lunch is optional and paid on site.

If you would like to create something yourself, our Soul Flower Tour takes you to the Roots Seychelles workshop, where you print your own pareo with sunlight, flowers and leaves. It fits perfectly into an art themed day on Mahé.
The perfect tour for a rainy day
The Art and Craft Tour is not only for art lovers. It is especially recommended in bad weather. When a tropical shower passes over Mahé, you spend the time in studios and galleries instead of on the beach, and often the sun is back before you know it. A personal encounter with an artist is also a lovely way to understand the culture of our island.
Why explore Seychelles art with us
Island Tour Seychelles is a family business on Mahé. Sheena has been guiding guests since 2020 and is the only licensed female tour guide in the Seychelles. Over the years our team has come to know the artists of our island well. That means we can plan the visits at the right time, introduce you personally and give you the stories behind the works. You travel comfortably in our air conditioned vehicle and never have to worry about parking or finding your way.
How to book the Art and Craft Tour
Because every Art and Craft Tour is planned individually, please contact us before booking. Write to us on WhatsApp at +248 2753440 or by e-mail at info@islandtourseychelles.com and tell us which artists interest you, how many people you are and on which day you would like to go. We will suggest a route and a starting time. If you prefer a classic sightseeing day, our Mahé Island Tour also stops at a local craft village, so you can combine beaches, spices and handmade art in one day.
We look forward to showing you the creative side of our island.
