Eden Island lies off Victoria, reached by a bridge, and is the newest part of Mahé: a man made island with a yacht harbour, waterfront homes, restaurants and a shopping centre. It has little in common with the rest of the island, and that is exactly why it is interesting.
What you will find there
Boats from small to very large, cafés and restaurants by the water, shops with things you won't find elsewhere on Mahé, and a supermarket that often helps visitors. Toilets are available, and there is enough shade to take a break.
The view
From the edge of the marina you look across the water back to Mahé, to the mountains behind Victoria. It is one of the few places from which you can see the island from the outside without sitting in a boat.
How long
Ten minutes for a look, half an hour with a coffee or shopping. In the day planner you can choose either.
How to get there
Over the bridge from Victoria, easily reached by bus. On our island tour Eden Island is a possible stop.
Nearby
Victoria is ten minutes to the west, boats to Sainte Anne National Park leave from here and from Victoria harbour.
