Where to eat on Mahé? From beach cafés with your feet almost in the sand to Creole kitchens, pizzerias, curry houses and fine dining, the restaurants in the Seychelles are as varied as our island. Here we have collected 67 restaurants across the Seychelles, sorted by area, with location and phone number, so you can plan your meals with ease. Most of them are on Mahé, a few on Praslin, La Digue and the smaller islands.

Restaurants in the Seychelles: what to expect

Seychellois cuisine is Creole cuisine. It mixes African, French, Indian and Chinese influences and lives from what the ocean and the garden give: freshly caught fish, octopus curry, grilled red snapper, breadfruit, lentils, rice and spicy chutneys. You will also find international cooking, Italian pizza, Indian and Asian specialities on Mahé. Beach restaurants are perfect for lunch, and many places in Beau Vallon, Victoria and Eden Island are open in the evening.

Lunch and dinner on our tours

On our Mahé Island Tour and our Beach Tour we like to stop for a Creole lunch in one of the restaurants along the way, for example in the south around Anse Royale and Takamaka or on the west coast. Your guide knows which places are open that day and suits your taste. Lunch is always optional and you pay it directly on site. On the Victoria City Tour an optional Creole lunch in the capital is possible, and with our Night Tour we take you safely to bars and restaurants in the evening and bring you home again.

Tips for eating out on Mahé

• Reserve for dinner, above all in high season and at popular beach restaurants.
• Opening hours and rest days vary from place to place, so check before you go.
• Try the fish of the day, a Creole curry and fresh fruit juice.
• Carry some cash: small cafés and takeaways do not always accept cards.
