Sunset Beach lies in the north of Mahé, between Beau Vallon and Glacis, framed by large granite rocks. The cove is small, the sand is light, and during the calm season the water is so still that you can see the rocks reflected in it.
The Evening
The view faces west, and out there lies the silhouette of Silhouette Island. When the sun sets behind it, the name explains itself. If you set your own schedule for the day, save this stop for later.
Swimming
As everywhere in the north: from May to October the water is calm, from December to March there is swell from the northwest. Between the rocks, snorkelling is worthwhile, and the entry is sandy.
Peace and Quiet
The cove is small, there is no restaurant on the sand, and precisely because of this there is less going on here than at the large neighbour Beau Vallon. Bring with you what you need.
How to Get There
Along the coastal road north of Beau Vallon, the access is next to the hotel. On our beach tour Sunset Beach is a regular stop.
Close By
Beau Vallon lies a few minutes to the south, Carana Beach just as far to the north.
