Our story: a family business on Mahé since 2020
Island Tour Seychelles is a family business on Mahé, and it has always been personal. Sheena Jean has run it since 2020. She is Seychelloise, born and raised on our island. She loves nature, she loves people and she loves the Seychelles. Showing her home to visitors was her dream long before it became her profession.
For many years she organised tours privately, first for family and friends, then for their friends. Word spread, and more and more guests asked her to show them the real Mahé. In 2018 she took the next step and joined the tour guide certification programme opened by the government of Seychelles. Since then she has guided as a licensed Seychellois tour guide.
A woman leading the business
Sheena is a woman at the head of her own tour business, which is still rare in the Seychelles. To this day she is the only woman in the country offering licensed tours. Together with our team she plans our tours and looks after our guests, and she still guides many of them herself. Her style is warm, direct and full of local knowledge. She tells you what the guidebooks leave out, from the name of a fruit at the roadside to the right hour for a quiet beach.
Being licensed matters to us. Our tours are licensed by the government of Seychelles and certified by the Seychelles Tourism Board. We carry liability insurance, and Sheena refreshes her first aid training regularly. For us, this is simply part of doing the job properly.
Our family team
Sheena says it herself: she cannot do it alone. Our guides Chris, Kevin, Yannick and Keeto share her love for the island and know Mahé in detail. Every one of our guides is licensed and holds an official tour guide certificate, so whoever leads your tour, you are in good hands. Karl, Sheena's husband, takes care of the website and the bookings, so you get a quick answer while you plan your holiday. Together we speak English and French, and Sheena also speaks a bit of German.
We are a small team and we like it that way. You will never be one of many in an overcrowded bus. Every tour is private: only you and your partner, family or group, a guide who knows the island, and a day planned around what you enjoy.
Why we focus on Mahé
All our tours take place on Mahé. It is our home and we know it well: the granite peaks of the Morne Seychellois National Park, the quiet bays of the south, the market and colourful streets of Victoria, the spice gardens and waterfalls in the green hills. Praslin and La Digue are lovely, and we are happy to give you tips for a visit, but our heart and our experience are here.
This focus lets us go deeper. Hiking is a passion in our family, and over the years we have discovered many small and big trails that we love to share, such as the Rockpool hike, the Anse Major hike and the Copolia hike. Beaches and the sea are just as close to our hearts, whether for swimming, snorkelling or a relaxed sunset. Our Mahé Island Tour brings it all together for guests who want to see the whole island in one day.
How we work
We pick you up free of charge anywhere on Mahé: at your hotel or guesthouse, at the airport, at the jetty in Victoria, at the cruise terminal or on Eden Island. Every tour can be adapted to you. If you want more time on the beach, a longer stop at a viewpoint or a Creole lunch, just tell your guide. We are also happy to help with special moments such as birthdays, engagements or a celebration on the beach with Creole flair.
Our goal is simple: to pass on everything we know about our island, openly and fairly. Many guests arrive as visitors and leave as friends. We would love to welcome you too.

Discover Mahé with the only female tour guide in the Seychelles.
Anyone who wants to experience the Seychelles to the full should let a real professional show them around, best of all on a guided tour.
Sheena Jean, born and raised in the Seychelles, has made it her mission to show holidaymakers the beauty of her homeland, and she specialises in the main island, Mahé.
You only get to see all the insider tips on a private tour with a licensed tour guide, Sheena Jean knows.
She not only holds all the necessary licences and certificates, but is also currently the only woman offering tours in the Seychelles.
And because the health of guests is so important nowadays, Sheena Jean makes sure that only registered guests take part. Strangers or unregistered third parties in overcrowded buses do not exist with this responsible entrepreneur.
Special tours for a fantastic holiday. Sheena Jean's tours are something very special, and her guests agree, as many enthusiastic reviews prove.
"I don't just offer simple island tours on Mahé, but also hikes and walks to extraordinary places on the island."
The tours are mainly in English, French is just as possible, and basic German is available too, thanks to a three month language course with Inlingua in Germany.
In the Seychelles it happens again and again that taxi companies offer tours to holiday guests, although they are neither qualified nor licensed tour guides. The owner of Island Tour Seychelles is often surprised. "I can only advise against getting involved in such an unprofessional tour," says Sheena Jean. "What might look like a good deal at first glance is actually not worth the money."
Only certified tour guides guarantee that you get to know the real highlights of the islands, get the right information and stay on safe paths.
So that guests feel well looked after, Island Tour Seychelles is certified by the Seychelles Tourism Board, licensed by the Government of Seychelles and, of course, has liability insurance for emergencies. And it goes without saying that Sheena Jean, as an experienced tour guide, always keeps her first aid training up to date.
The right island tour for every taste. The beauty of Mahé cannot be ticked off in a single tour. The island has far too much to offer, so the individual tours are carefully planned and offer just the right thing for every taste.
How about the Rock Pool tour, for example? A visit is only possible with a guided tour, because the rock pool is hard to find. The hike through this unique landscape is easy and an unforgettable experience.
Those interested in the culture of the Seychelles are well advised to take a guided tour of Victoria. As one of the smallest capitals in the world, it offers interesting architecture as well as museums, markets and the botanical garden.
Unique is the buggy tour for two adults, it exists only once in the Seychelles. "I am particularly proud of this," says Sheena Jean. The tour is led by François, who can cater to special requests on this day tour and show guests exactly what they want to see.
The Soul Flower tour is combined with a workshop where guests learn the old craft of sun printing.
The beach tour takes guests to the most beautiful beaches of Mahé and invites them to swim, snorkel or simply relax.
And for those who want a big overview, the island tour is just right: fantastic viewpoints, an exciting spice garden, the Sauzier waterfall, Mont Signal, markets or a rum distillery are just some of the many sights.
"My tours can be planned individually," Sheena Jean emphasises. "Whether nature or culture, cocktails on the beach or hikes through unspoiled countryside, my guests can choose from a wide range of options what they enjoy most."

Fun Hike. Cute Rock Pool. quick easy hike over wet leaves, streams, fallen branches, big rocks. around half an hour from the starting point to the rock pool. i wore crocs and i was fine. do bring your own bottle of water and a towel. won't recommend to jump to the rock pool, especially when the waves are strong. the sea might eat you and the seychelles government had to do a search and rescue operation. sheena is an…

OTTIMA. Brava guidatrice, seria e riservata.
